Scalp care,

OUR APPROACH

Begin with
the scalp.

NASCERA begins with the scalp: its protective barrier, its microbial environment and the practical demands of daily care.

These priorities shape the first leave-on formula we are developing — from ingredient selection to texture and application.

Our ambition is straightforward: to bring the attention given to skincare to the way we care for the scalp.

SCALP SCIENCE

A deeper
understanding.

Scalp comfort. Microbiome compatibility. Evidence for the finished formula. Three priorities shaping the care we are developing.

01The scalp barrierScalp comfort comes first.

Comfort, hydration and tolerability are central to our development brief. We consider how a daily leave-on formula feels on the scalp, how precisely it can be applied and how it fits into regular use.

02The scalp microbiomeRespect the scalp’s living environment.

We are examining how a complete leave-on formula can be assessed for compatibility with the scalp’s microbial environment — rather than treating one ingredient as proof of a microbiome benefit.

Any compatibility claim will depend on suitable assessment of the finished formula. It is not a promise of hair growth.

03The finished formulaThe whole formula. The right evidence.

Ingredient selection is only the beginning. Concentration, texture, stability, tolerability and application all matter to the development of a daily scalp formula.

We distinguish evidence about an ingredient from results demonstrated for the finished product. The claims we communicate must reflect that distinction.

SCALP SCIENCE

Sources & context

These sources inform our questions. None evaluated a NASCERA formula or demonstrates a NASCERA product benefit.

  1. Scalp lipids and barrier function

Harding CR et al. (2002). Dandruff: a condition characterized by decreased levels of intercellular lipids in scalp stratum corneum and impaired barrier function. Archives of Dermatological Research, 294, 221–230.

Comparative studies of scalps with and without dandruff found differences in free lipids and barrier-related responses. The context is dandruff; this does not establish that a cosmetic formula will repair the barrier or improve hair growth.

  2. Microbes and the scalp environment

Xu Z et al. (2016). Dandruff is associated with the conjoined interactions between host and microorganisms. Scientific Reports, 6, 24877.

Human scalp research relating microbial patterns to host factors and dandruff. These are associations, not proof that altering microbes causes a hair-growth benefit.

    Read the publication ↗
  3. Healthy and dandruff scalp microbiomes

Saxena R et al. (2018). Comparison of Healthy and Dandruff Scalp Microbiome Reveals the Role of Commensals in Scalp Health. Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 8, 346.

This comparative study examined microbial communities and scalp measurements in women with and without dandruff. Its exploratory findings should not be treated as a clinical test of a cosmetic product.

  4. Evidence for cosmetic claims

Office for Product Safety and Standards. Regulation 1223/2009 and the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013: Great Britain. Article 20, paragraphs 114–121.

This is regulatory guidance, not a clinical study. Ingredient properties cannot simply be presented as finished-product benefits without adequate, verifiable evidence.

YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy Notice

Who is responsible

RR Beauty International Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 16108056, is the controller of personal information handled for NASCERA. For privacy enquiries or rights requests, contact hello@nascera.co.uk. Company information is available in Legal Information.

Launch registrations and consent

We use your first name, last name and email address to manage your request and send updates about the launch of NASCERA’s first product. Joining is optional. The legal basis for launch marketing is your consent. The unticked checkbox asks for permission for these updates only, not unrelated marketing.

The form sends your names, email address and selected launch permission directly to Mailchimp. Mailchimp manages subscriber status, email confirmation and unsubscribe. Submitting the form does not itself confirm ownership of your email address or establish a confirmed subscription. Follow the instructions on the Mailchimp response page and in the confirmation email.

Mailchimp also processes technical and subscription information, which may include IP addresses, request and confirmation times, the signup source and permission history. We keep a dated copy of the permission wording. NASCERA does not use a separate subscriber database or registration server.

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw consent using the unsubscribe link in a launch email or by contacting hello@nascera.co.uk. You do not need a NASCERA account. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. Limited suppression information is needed to respect an unsubscribe request; it is not permission to continue sending launch emails.

How long we keep information

Retention depends on whether the first-product launch programme is still active, whether you still want launch updates, and any need to retain evidence of permission, respect a withdrawal or meet legal obligations. Enquiry records are assessed according to whether the enquiry is resolved and whether further correspondence or a legal requirement makes retention necessary.

Unsubscribing stops launch emails; it does not automatically erase your Mailchimp record. Mailchimp keeps unsubscribed contacts until they are removed. You can ask us about retention or request erasure at hello@nascera.co.uk. We may need to retain limited suppression information to avoid contacting you again.

Ordinary enquiries

If you email us, we receive your email address, the content and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer and manage your enquiry, relying on our legitimate interests in responding to correspondence. Our public contact mailbox uses Titan. Please do not send diagnoses, medical records or scalp photographs to this general enquiry address.

Providers and international processing

We use Mailchimp, provided by The Rocket Science Group LLC, to manage registrations and launch emails. Mailchimp describes its international processing in its privacy statement. Its Data Processing Addendum describes safeguards for international transfers, including standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum where applicable.

Website hosting and security

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. It processes technical information, including IP addresses and request information, to deliver and protect the site. We rely on our legitimate interests in providing a secure, reliable website. Cloudflare describes its processing and international safeguards in its Privacy Policy.

Website connections

This page loads Newsreader and Hanken Grotesk from Google Fonts and the required Mailchimp badge from Intuit’s image host. These requests disclose technical information, such as IP addresses and browser headers, to the respective providers. Following a signup or verification link opens Mailchimp’s own pages, where its privacy and security information applies.

The page does not contain NASCERA advertising pixels, an analytics script, subscriber storage in your browser or behavioural profiling. This description concerns the page itself, not the separate services operated by its providers.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal information. You may withdraw consent at any time and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact hello@nascera.co.uk; we may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

We do not use the registration process for automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.
